About the event

Session 1) to provide reminders/teaching of basic vocal techniques, through warm-up exercises and exploration of particular aspects of voice production and singing, including eg breathing and breath control, posture, tone, phonation, diction, intonation, etc. This will be achieved through a variety of exercises, games and learning simple pieces or songs, eg African chants, rounds, folk songs, etc.

 

Session 2)  application of these ideas to repertoire, using pieces planned for forthcoming concerts.

New Music Director: Graham Coatman

We are excited to be able to confirm the appointment of our new Music Director, Graham Coatman, who will formally be taking over in September 2026. As an accomplished musician and experienced leader of choirs, he will bring an enormous amount of experience to the Community Choir. Everyone is looking forward to learning new techniques and generally having fun whilst singing together!
